The 2025-2026 District Scripps Spelling Bee hosted by Donna Independent School District was a remarkable event that truly highlighted the exceptional talent, unwavering focus, and steadfast determination of our students. Held on Thursday, January 29, this annual competition brought together top spellers from each of Donna ISD's middle and elementary schools, all eager to demonstrate their linguistic prowess.

The atmosphere was electric as students took to the stage, each representing their respective schools with pride and confidence. The competition was fierce, with participants showcasing their extensive vocabulary and spelling skills in front of an attentive audience.
Among the standout performers was Madeleine Ramirez, an 8th-grade student from A.P. Solis Middle School. With poise and precision, Madeleine navigated the challenging words presented to her, ultimately securing the first-place victory. Her success has earned her the opportunity to advance to the Regional Scripps Spelling Bee, scheduled for March.
The event was a testament to the dedication and hard work of both the students and their coaches, who have invested countless hours in preparation. The support from teachers, family members, and the community was palpable, creating an encouraging environment for all participants.
Donna ISD extends heartfelt congratulations to Madeleine Ramirez for her impressive achievement. Her victory not only brings pride to A.P. Solis Middle School but also to the entire district. We look forward to cheering her on as she represents us at the regional level.

Indeed, this year's District Scripps Spelling Bee was an event to remember, underscoring the excellence and competitive spirit that define our students. Congratulations once again, Madeleine. We are the Best!
